Ask the trustees at Laramie County Community College whether they believe a closed process would have better served them in 2012 when they chose a replacement for Darrel Hammon. Their response: not only no, but heck no.Virtually every stakeholder group now believes that LCCC got the right person in President Joseph Schaffer. And this was a very open process: Finalists were announced, they met with instructors and they answered questions in public forums.
